Raised in a family that encouraged healthy eating habits, I was always aware of the impact diet had on both physical and mental health.
When my mother was diagnosed with cancer my eyes were opened to the fact that others, even doctors, do not see this connection. “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” harkens back to Hippocrates but still applies today. Metabolic Balance is based on this philosophy. Unlike other diets, each person’s unique needs are factored into creating an individualized eating plan that creates balance in their body. I strongly believe in this philosophy having been a caregiver, a cook and someone who has grown their own food.
